What Kids Will Learn
Get ready to mix, cut and shape your way through this classic pasta class! We’ll be making our own pasta dough, fillings and a variety of familiar sauces as well as a quick study of the difference when cooking fresh vs. boxed pasta; what to look for and how to tell when it’s done.
What we’ll learn: Bow tie Pasta (Farfalle)-hand rolling sheets, cutting and forming into this well known shape. Fettuccine-use a pasta roller like a pro to produce the perfect texture and thickness for restaurant-style noodles. Tortellini-sauteed vegetables and garlic get folded into a blend of cheeses then get shaped into perfect little bites. Spicy Marinara Sauce-bold and full of flavor! Learn to build a sauce from scratch, balance seasonings and layer in a bit of heat like a chef. No-Nut Pesto-a fresh twist on a favorite! Students will learn how to use herbs, garlic, cheese & oil to create a vibrant addition to a number of dishes. Creamy Alfredo Sauce-smooth, rich and made from fresh ingredients...young chefs learn how to control heat and create sauces without breaking them. Students will mix, match and taste-test their creations like true kitchen scientists. This class is equal parts education and edible excitement. Come hungry, leave happy-MANGIA!
